One Fly & NFWF Partnership
The Jackson Hole One Fly Capital Foundation (One Fly)
and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) established a new
partnership in 2003 to leverage both
organizations’ funding and interest
in cold water fisheries conservation, particularly in the tributaries
and mainstem Snake and Yellowstone Basins. The One Fly and NFWF have a
long history in fisheries conservation throughout the greater Snake
River and Yellowstone region. Both organizations have individually and
jointly funded many important projects that are building on this success
through this new partnership.
Since 2003, the One Fly has raised and contributed over $641,000
to native trout restoration projects through donations and the
event, that was leveraged with over $824,000 of NFWF federal funds
and matched with an additional $3.4 million in grantee match for
more than $4.9 million invested in conservation. For every dollar the
One Fly raises, it leverages at least an an additional $6 of match!
The One Fly-NFWF partnership has supported 61 projects since 2003.
The Foundation awards the grant contracts and now
administers the grants on behalf of the partnership.
Grant application forms can be found on the
Apply For A Grant page.
Grant applications are due February
16, 2009 and will be reviewed jointly by NFWF and the Stream
Improvement Committee of the Jackson Hole One Fly Foundation.
The One Fly was created to generate, manage, and grant funds for
projects that benefit trout and flyfishing environments. They sponsor an
annual event to unite fly fishing enthusiasts from around the world to
celebrate the joy of fishing in combination with social. For more
